You will also lead the site's Community Coordinator. This is a hands-on, high-autonomy role with significant room to grow as the site scales. It reports to the Director of Operations.

• Partner with Hatch finance and operations systems on billing, reporting, and the tools that run the site.
Lab Operations
• Keep the labs and shared scientific infrastructure running reliably so resident research is always protected.
• Manage shared equipment, consumables, and lab services, coordinating maintenance and procurement with vendors.
• Onboard new lab residents, including space setup and access.
EHS & Biosafety
• Own environmental health, safety, and biosafety for the site, including chemical and waste management and compliance recordkeeping.
• Support BSL-1 and BSL-2 operations in coordination with Hatch's Biosafety Officer.
• Keep the site compliant with applicable safety and environmental regulations.
Facilities
• Oversee building systems, work orders, and facility vendors across the labs and shared spaces.
• Keep the facility well maintained, safe, and compliant through routine inspection and preventive maintenance.
• Act as the day-to-day liaison with building ownership on facility matters.
Qualifications
Required
• 3+ years in lab operations, facilities, or life-science facility management.
• Hands-on EHS and lab-safety experience, such as serving on a safety or biosafety committee or running chemical and waste programs. Formal certification is not required; we provide full training.
• Proven ability to manage vendors and balance competing priorities.
• Strong communicator, comfortable with both scientific and business audiences.
• Self-directed and entrepreneurial, able to run a site independently.
Preferred
• Experience in a life sciences, biotech, or research facility.
• Familiarity with lab safety and environmental compliance.
• Background in commercial or mixed-use property operations.
• Comfort with modern operations, facilities, or member-management software.
• Exposure to incubator, coworking, or multi-tenant lab environments.
